During this summer, we made five total visits to Friendly House in Worcester to run our 5-part summer workshop! Every Friday, we worked with five to ten elementary and middle school students, teaching them concepts like building robots and attachments to complete difficult tasks and thinking like a coder when planning a route for navigation.
We had so much fun working with the students, and their enthusiasm was infectious: everyone was having a great time! It was fascinating looking at each student's interest: some loved building the robots and attachments, while others were diligently invested in programming the robot with SPIKE Prime word blocks. Additionally, with the new school year starting, several volunteers new to GummyBears Robotics got to kick off their volunteering journey with this amazing opportunity!
We look forward to the many more visits we have with Friendly House in the upcoming year.
